When Your iPhone Still Works Normally After Water Damage
Even if the screen and calls still work after water damage, that doesn't mean everything is fine. Don't rush to charge it—check for symptoms first and back up important data safely.

- Remove any wet cables or accessories, then wipe away moisture from the exterior.
- Avoid wired charging while the charging port may still be wet, and let it air-dry naturally.
- Check the speaker, microphone, camera, screen, and charging one at a time.
- While everything works normally, check your backup status over Wi-Fi.
What Drain-Sound Features Can Help With
If the speaker sound is just muffled and there's no overheating or issues with power or the screen, a drain-sound feature may help push out water droplets. It can't dry the inside of the device, stop corrosion, or diagnose a failure.
Preparing to Consult a Repair Service
If liquid damage is suspected, it may not be covered by Apple's one-year limited warranty. Keeping a record of when symptoms changed, what type of liquid was involved, and whether you charged the device makes it easier to explain the situation when you consult a repair service.
